Tennessee’s Do Not Call/Text law

On top of the federal TCPA, Tennessee’s Do Not Call/Text law, administered by the Tennessee Public Utility Commission, generally:

  • requires telephone solicitors to register every year,
  • limits sales calls and texts to between 8 a.m. and 9 p.m.,
  • requires callers to identify themselves at the start of the call,
  • prohibits contacts to numbers on the Do Not Call/Text Register, which has included text messages since July 2023, and
  • prohibits blocking caller ID.

Exceptions include contacts with the customer’s permission or a business relationship within the past 12 months.

Our team honors opt-outs immediately and respects your CRM’s do-not-contact flags, and we plan coverage based on your dealership’s hours, Monday through Saturday. This is general information, not legal advice. Your dealership’s attorney should review your outreach policies.
