Utah’s Spanish-speaking car buyers

Utah’s Hispanic population is one of the largest in the Mountain West, centered in Salt Lake County (West Valley City, Glendale and Rose Park), Ogden, Provo and Orem, and St. George. Call Contact Confirm works every lead and call in English or Spanish, whichever the customer prefers. See bilingual BDC.

Utah’s telephone solicitation laws

On top of the federal TCPA, Utah’s Telephone and Facsimile Solicitation Act and Telephone Fraud Prevention Act generally:

  • bar unsolicited solicitations on Sundays and legal holidays and between 9 p.m. and 8 a.m. without prior express consent,
  • treat calls to Utah numbers on the National Do Not Call Registry as state violations,
  • require callers to identify themselves and the business and promptly state the purpose,
  • require many telephone sellers to register and post a bond (rewritten by SB 38, 2026), and
  • prohibit blocking caller ID.

Consumers can sue for $500 or actual losses, whichever is greater, plus attorney fees. Our team honors opt-outs immediately and respects your CRM’s do-not-contact flags. This is general information, not legal advice. Your dealership’s attorney should review your consent forms and outreach policies.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can dealerships make sales calls on Sundays in Utah?

Utah generally prohibits unsolicited telephone solicitations on Sundays and legal holidays, and before 8 a.m. or after 9 p.m., unless the consumer gave prior express consent. Calls at the consumer's express request and calls to people with an established business relationship, such as an inquiry or transaction within the past 18 months, are generally not unsolicited. This is general information, not legal advice; your dealership's counsel should advise on your situation.

What changed in Utah in 2026?

Utah's Senate Bill 38, effective May 6, 2026, rewrote the Telephone Fraud Prevention Act, which requires many telephone sellers to register with the Division of Consumer Protection and post security. It also added an email address to the information sellers must give, along with oral notice of cancellation rights.
